With the right counsellor, counselling can be life changing. When picking a counsellor, it is important that you feel comfortable and it is a good idea to talk to a few counsellors before picking the one you want to work with. Using your intuition to decide could help.

Counselling can mean that you will be talking about things from the past but only what you feel safe enough to talk about. Your counsellor will follow your lead on this.

Coaching helps you to achieve your goals, it could be getting a new job, more confidence, starting a business etc.

A coach will help you to set goals and hold you accountable and this will enable you to achieve your goals a lot quicker.

You may feel like you are not where you want to be and may feel impatient with the progress you are making towards your goals, with a coach you will work together to identify the blocks that are holding you back and by understanding them, this will empower you to achieve your goals.

The greatest musicians, business owners, athletes, actors and actresses have all had coaches who have helped them to achieve great success.

Usually 50 minutes for Counselling and 1 hour for Coaching – this will be agreed with your counsellor/coach.

 

Yes, there are many different types of counselling approaches, a few of these approaches are:

Psychotherapy, this usually involves talking about the things in the past that may have affected you in your life, psychotherapy helps you to make sense of and heal difficult experiences from the past.

CBT known as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps you to work on your thoughts and beliefs.

Systemic Therapy – this focuses on how systems e.g. family, school or your environment affects your emotional wellbeing.
